Cancellation Booking #2398****

My name is Amber Sparks and I cancelled this vacay flight and car rental end of September. The flight was to take place in April 2025 so cancellation was within a week of booking the flight.

We were informed that a refund back to my card would be issued minus $600 and I have still not received that refund but I called to find out when I would receive the refund and my mom who is the main card holder called talked over while speaking to the agent and then was hung up on and put on mute very rude.

We were issued a travel certificate in my (Amber Sparks) name only not in the other two peoples name that were on the ticket and this was cancelled for medical reasons and cannot fly. This was cancelled 7 months ahead of the flight. We would need the refund as the travel certificate is in my name only and not in the other two peoples names that were on the ticket and I cannot fly. Besides that travel certificate should be for the full amount as they would charge me for the refund and on your paper work under Section 9 ii.

it clearly states refund for air travel booked will be issued back iii. to original form of payment and $600 would be our cancellation penalty.

Please correct this and issue the refund back to the card it was purchased on.

You can contact my mother who is the card holder (I am authorized buyer) and refund this money back. I also can supply a doctor's statement that does not allow me to fly.

Still Waiting on Refund

I took a trip booked through American Airlines Travel with two other friends. The hotel was horrible such that we requested a refund to go to another hotel.

Before we left, we were told that we would receive a full refund for the hotel in which we stayed. This was on July 29, 2024, it is now September 9, 2024. Our travel agent has requested, through email, that someone contacts her to assist in our promised refund, but we have yet to receive it or hear back. There is a weekly email sent out at least several times a week with no response.

We have also contacted AA Vacations with no response. We need the money we were promised, if not, you will be reported.

I just booked a vacation on American vacations since I am a platinum card holder. It was literally a joke, our flight was delayed and made 11 hour late to our destination.

Then our bags where lost for 4 days, they booked our returned tickets wrong with the wrong ticket numbers.

I have emailed 6 times within 13 days, and I have called them 4 times. Literally no reponse except a generic one, and no call, and the 4th time I called today they said my complaint had been resolved.

Sincere compliments to you and the team for having garnered good reviews about your airline on multiple dimensions.

I am booked with AA Reservation No. AHCGZZ (Boston to Vancouver on 16th August 2024, Seat Nos. 26A, 26B). I am trying to do a web check-in using the 24-hour window prior to the flight departure. However, my efforts are proving futile - it gives me this error message.

I have tried multiple times to no avail.

Please go ahead and do the check-in from your side on my behalf, and confirm by return.

DELAY OF FLIGHT

Hello, happy new month and happy new week.

We are trying to reach someone in order to speak about a very long delay in the below flight.

We had issued the 3 tickets for passengers Evangelia Papacheimona (Ticket number: 00111********), Erato Lada (Ticket number: 00111********), and Dimitrios Ladas (Ticket number: 00111********). Our flight was scheduled to depart from Athens to MDT at 13:25 on 1st July 2024.

Unfortunately, I was informed of the flight cancellation very late, at 07:30 on the day of departure.

No official communication was received from American Airlines; I only discovered the cancellation by checking the app myself.

This notification was provided less than 14 days before our scheduled departure, which is insufficient time for passengers to make alternative arrangements.

Furthermore, we were rebooked on a flight departing on 4th July 2024, which is three days after the original flight and more than three hours later than the cancelled flight. This rebooking caused significant inconvenience and additional expenses for my family.

According to EU Regulation 261/2004, we have to have a refund for our three tickets and compensation for the additional expenses incurred during the delay.

Extremely Disappointing Hotel Booking Experience

I booked a hotel through American Airlines over 2 months in advance. I paid in full and it was non-refundable.

Two weeks later, I learned the hotel didn't have any information about my reservation. I spent MANY hours on the phone over a period of almost 3 weeks until I couldn't take it anymore and asked for a refund. Since they never made the reservation I paid for, I didn't think it was a big ask, but even after speaking to a supervisor, I was told that they had until the DAY of the reservation to fix the issue.

This was completely unacceptable, but they already had my money. When they finally sorted it out, I asked for some compensation for all of my time that they wasted by not fixing the issue after the first call, but they had no interest in making it right.

Worse vacation ever

Booked AAVacation for Family to the Grand Palladium in Punta Cana.

The rooms were rundown, AC not working properly, patio door would not lock, electricity going out, water leaks, phone not working, outdoor cooking with flies crawling all over food, weak and warm drinks.

Hospitalized with dysentery, sent by ambulance that stopped every few minutes to pick up pieces that had fallen off. Hospital was non-English speaking.

I have written to their customer relations department multiple times and was told they are 90 days behind on addressing issues. Not sure what country this department is in now but I would guess its not in the US any longer.

They ignore and provide no telephone number to call.

I will share my experience to all that will listen.

Grand Palladium has at least reached out to me, but AAVacations will not respond to them even.

Rental car issue

American airlines vacations is very inflexible. I could not cancel a rental car that it turns out I don't need for my trip without paying the full amount! If I had reserved it directly with the rental car company, I could have cancelled without penalty!!!

Weve had a terrible experience with Wyndham grand which we booked through American Airlines Vacations.

We booked 7 night stay during new year and within first couple days we had lot of issues with our room and the resort. First night bathroom hallway was flooded due to leak in wash basins plumbing, lamp shade was not working, coffeemaker had nowhere to plugin, our supposedly ocean view room had zero view because it was blocked by a building.

On top of it the food was terrible. We complained to the front desk and asked for a refund and they suggested talking to our travel agent.

When contacted, American Airlines Vacations told us to book a new hotel from out of pocket and submit bill for reimbursement after the trip. We did so for last 3 days of the trip.

Now the saga began after we submitted the claim. American says Wyndham claims they have no record of our complaint (absurd) or our check-out 3 days early (absurd).

Wyndham is lying and American is just wringing their hands and dont want to dig further and do right by the customer.

Weve lost thousands of dollars because of this.

I will never do business with Wyndham or American again and recommend the same to others. They both are not trustworthy.

Terrible experience

Hello, I would like to tell you what a terrible experience I had coming home from my AA vacation.

This trip was made by one of your travel agents. I trusted that they knew the correct way to make flight reservations since this is your business.

The trip was great until it was time to fly home.

We were supposed to land in Charlotte at 7:10PM and our next flight to Newark was at 8:18PM.

Since I have never flown internationally before, I had no idea what to expect.

I thought you went from one gate to another so an hour sounded like plenty of time.

Your agent never mentioned that you had to go through customs which took 45 minutes, and I was told by the customs agent that the line was actually moving quickly. Normally it takes longer than that. Although our next flight was still on the ground we were not allowed to board as they said boarding was closed.

That means that there is no way we would have ever been able to make the connection. Why would your agent book those flights?

Of course my party of 4 missed the flight.

We went to the desk and were told there were no more flights and we would have to rebook the next day. She offered no help at all. No mention of any credit, no mention of looking at other airports, no offer of a hotel to stay in. Did she expect us to sleep in the airport?

We finally asked for a manager.

She managed to find us a flight to LGA later that evening.

We took that flight as we all had to get to work the next day.

We then had to pay $150.00 out of pocket for an Uber to take us from LGA back to Newark where we were parked.

What was a nice vacation turned into a terrible day and has turned me off AA Vacations and American Airlines in general. I can guarantee that I will be discussing your agents lack of how connecting flights work as well as the rude desk agent that was not willing to take 5 minutes to try to help us with everyone I know.

Your anger needs to be directed at the travel agent who made your reservations and earned a commission. The ticket agent you were dealing with should have looked at other airport options rather than you needing to waste time getting a manager.

They made a mistake

I was very specific that I only needed hotels rooms for the first 3 days of our 5 day trip. The confirmation came back wrong.

I called and the rep said if I were to cancel 2 days of 2 rooms each nite it would cost me $18 more! I had to really push. Asked that they listen to the original recording, they said they have thousands and that wasnt possible!!! I had emailed them.

No response. I called again and after much pushing , she reluctantly refunded me $119 for what was equivalent to 4 hotel nights ouch.

And I needed a car rental but they made it sound like that was too difficult. Never again!

I have requested AA vacations go change my CLIA number on several occasions. In August they confirmed it would be changed and to continue to book my clients. Now they are refusing to change my credentials resulting in $2000 lost in commission.
